Emirates ID
Emirates ID is an identity card issued by Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP). It is a legal requirement for all UAE citizens and residents to apply for one and carry it with them at all times. The Emirates ID card is the national ID card.
Being an important identification element, asking user's to enter their Emirates ID must include the ability to encrypt and secure the date entry method. Moreover, to improve usability, it is required to allow users to enter the Emirates ID seamlessly, but appy a placeholder pattern to the input method.
- A user is not required to add spaces
- A user is not required to add dashes
Using HTML patterns on input fields, you can even validate if the pattern of the Emirates ID entered was valid or invalid.
Displaying an Emirates ID
Displaying an Emirates ID to the user on a screen must be in the same format as printed on the card.

It is also advisable to mask the Emirates ID when displayed on the screen of a user, until the user explicitly wants to display it.
